Today, a professor we just met today said that we were all supposed to be gender sensitive in the class. So he asked the class, the guys first, who were gay. Apparently, no one in our class is or none as we all know of. When he asked who were lesbians, I looked behind over my left shoulder first, then my right, asking my friends if I should raise my hand… I can’t recall who it was but someone whispered “Go. Raise your hand.” I did. I raised my hand, high and proud with a big smile on my face. My professor just nodded. It felt good. I know it’s obvious that I am but at least now, no one would second guess. ;)

That’s absolutely amazing. I wish I had a teacher like that….. I would raise my hand too! :DD

I don’t know that I’d be comfortable with a professor like that.  People fail to realise that coming out to an entire group isn’t always the best idea  — particularly for men.  It’s the sort of thing that people have a right to decide for themselves.  Calling the class out would have me worried and I’m about as loud and proud as they get.
